What to do at Legon Botanical Gardens
High Ropes Course
Experience the thrill of challenging yourself on the high ropes course. This course consists of platforms connected by cables, wood, and rope, offering different challenges at each platform. With four routes and 64 games on two levels, you can enjoy activities such as walking on suspended planks, climbing along rope mesh, and swinging from one suspended log to another. Please note that participants must wear proper gear, including sneakers or closed-toe shoes, trousers or shorts, and hand gloves.
Children’s Playground
Watch your children challenge themselves on the junior ropes, trampoline, climbing jungle circuit, plastic slides, carousel, seesaw, 4-sided pyramid net climber, chinning bars, rotary wings, bird nest swing, and more.
Canoeing
Experience the thrill of riding a canoe and explore the beautiful islands and peninsulas in the park. These areas serve as sanctuaries for birds and lizard species. Canoeing is available on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Groups with 20 or more participants need to book in advance.
Canopy Walk
Take a walk on Ghana’s widest canopy walkway and enjoy breathtaking views from all directions. The walkway is 13 meters high and 138 meters long.
Bird Watching
Observe migratory birds as they fly around the park.
Events Woodland
If you’re looking for a unique venue for your events, the Legon Botanical Gardens offers ample space in the woods. It has hosted major events such as the Year of Return’s Jungle in the Park.
Other Activities
In addition to the main attractions, you can also enjoy fishing and cycling at the gardens.

Opening Hours
The gardens are open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekdays, with the last entry at 4:30 pm. On weekends and public holidays, they are open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, with the last entry at 5:00 pm. Please note that the administration is closed on Sundays and Mondays, and Mondays and Tuesdays are designated as quiet time in the gardens, with facilities not in use.
