US Visa Fees in Ghana: Complete List of Fees

Before you apply for a nonimmigrant visa, you need to pay a nonrefundable and nontransferable visa application fee, also known as the MRV charge. This fee must be paid regardless of whether or not your visa is approved. The amount you have to pay depends on the type of visa you are applying for. The fees for each type of nonimmigrant visa can be found on this page. Please note that only nonimmigrant visa application fees are included here.

The visa application fee is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another person. Once you have paid the fee, you will receive a receipt. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the suspension of consular operations, the Department of State has extended the validity of visa application fees until September 30, 2023. If you do not schedule a visa appointment by that date, your fee will expire and you will not be able to use it for a visa application.

In Ghana, the application fees for US visas are as follows: $160 for tourist, business, student, and exchange visas, $190 for work and religious visas, $265 for K visas, and $205 for E visas. Please note that K visa applicants can pay their fees at any GT bank branch in Ghana. The tables provided in the article give a detailed breakdown of the visa types and fees.

The fees are in US dollars but must be paid in the local currency. You can pay the fee in person at any GT bank office or online if you have a GTBank account. More information on payment methods can be found on the official website. Certain visa types and conditions do not require a fee, such as diplomatic visas, certain official U.S. Government-sponsored exchanges, and certain exemptions based on international agreements.

In addition to the visa application fee, there may be other fees you need to pay. The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee is required for F, M, and J visa participants. The fee is $350 for nonimmigrant students with Form I-20 and $220 for most exchange visitors with Form DS-2019. Applicants covered under a blanket petition for L status must pay a Fraud Prevention and Detection fee of $500.

It’s important to keep in mind all the fees and requirements when applying for a US visa in Ghana. Make sure to pay the correct fees and follow the payment instructions provided.
