Before you apply for a nonimmigrant visa, you need to pay a nonrefundable and nontransferable visa application fee, also known as the MRV charge. The visa application fee is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another person. Once you have paid the fee, you will receive a receipt. If you do not schedule a visa appointment by that date, your fee will expire and you will not be able to use it for a visa application.

Applicants covered under a blanket petition for L status must pay a Fraud Prevention and Detection fee of $500.
